As much as we see the bob come and go on our socials, it is a classic style that will never leave the stylist chair. The classic cut with its straight lines and sharp edges will always be a timeless look.
The bob cut is a square structure that can be left as a strong line or a textured finish. By keeping all the hair the same length, this helps short or fine hair feel and look thicker; there are many reason to have this chop done. All face shapes can wear this style, but if having a square or round shape you may want to think about keeping the front longer to elongate the face.
The bob first came onto the sense in 1915 when a young woman tricked a barber into “lobbing” off her hair, with this she was castigated by everyone. Boys no longer liker her, she was uninvited to social gatherings and her family fared for scandal. For women hair was sometimes to be worn up but always kept long, this was the beginning of something big in the hairdressing industry. Hairdressers would flat out refuse to perform the shocking and highly controversial do.
By 1920 the best-known short hair style was “the bob” and with that the flapper was born, woman with short hair who smoke, drunk, cursed, danced, participating in petting parties, voted, and overall took risk. The Flapper attitude was characterized by truthfulness, fast-living, and sexual behavior. They were women that wanted to stay connected to their youth and by haiving short hair they felt in powered.
Today there are so many different variations and to name few we have the Asymmetrical, lob, sleek, classic, long and the blunt bob.. the list goes on but that just shows you this style can be worn various ways and by all and that is why we will never see the bob die.
You are in no danger of going out of style with this timeless style.
